Now let me explain what Ratpoison really it
Ratpoison is a simple Window Manager with no fat library dependencies, no fancy graphics, no window decorations, and no rodent dependence. It is largely modelled after GNU Screen which has done wonders in the virtual terminal market.
Ok, So ratpoison is just a X11 counterpart of screen
All interactions done are via the C-t(Control - t) keys, ofcourse you can change them
Ratpoisons quoteline, Say good-bye to the rodent actually is quite interesting, to them a rodent is something which *disturbs* you while your working, like an IM message.

The reason you want to avoid the rodent is that when your coding while
chemically modified you will want to minimize any possible distraction
or break in concentration. The slightest wavering in your attention
will easily explode into a ten minute setback. If you can keep
yourself on-track then I find that productivity is greatly increased,
and with the properly trained mindset bug density on first pass is
usually drastically decreased.
