SliTaz Install Guide (Bandwidth Heavy)

Ok, Heres a Photo-Text guide to installing SliTaz

So lets start

Booting the Live CD

  • The first screen u see is this. SliTaz is being booted, you can type us in the box for faster loading

  • Then you see this. This is the language select Menu, quite self-explanatory

  • Next comes this. This is the keyboard select menu, just select us for standard keyboard

  • Now comes the resolution screen. Use your common sense :P

  • This is the login screen. Default username is tux and it has no password. the root password is root

  • This is the SliTaz live cd :-)

Installing SliTaz

  • Ok, To install SliTaz, Follow the Image. BTW, the installer is a ncurses script, although being in french, its still quite obvious.

  • Selecting The Partition. If you havent Partitioned the drive, you can launch gparted and partition it

  • Formatting :-|

  • Choosing Hostname

  • Installing Grub

  • Now, Restart

Congratulations, SliTaz has been installed

    Comparing DSL and SliTaz, I still find DSL much better option.It have much more appz, and 50 MBs ain’t much anyway.
    Still awesome guide. Twitting and Stumbling it :)

    20mb is a large difference for dial up users :-|
